Will there be walls in chapter? Maybe!

Emmaa: <sings> I'm married, I'm married, I'm married!
Indeed she is, and the happy couple spend their wedding night--
Sleeping! How sexy!
Emma: Both of our plumbobs were red! I was really tired! It takes a lot of effort to convince a man to marry you the day you meet him. We got down to business first thing in the morning.
Me: Yes, yes you did.
Emma: I told you not to show anyone those pictures! They're private!
Me: You really think so? Look again, Emms.
Oblivious much?
Emma: WHO IS THAT IN OUR ROOM?!!!!????
Me: Don't act so affronted. You two laid in bed naked while they took pictures! (Seriously. They did!) There was no way you could have not seen them.
Emma: I am a modest flower...
Me: You, who in the last chapter, proudly proclaimed that you didn't need bathroom walls?
Emma: I am a complex and layered person!

Now that she was married, Emma had absolutely no need to stay in China any longer so she and Zhan made their way back to Sunset Valley where they found something new waiting for them on the lot.
Emma: WALLS! THERE ARE WALLS! WALLS!!!! THE BED IS INSIDE!!!
Me: Well, Zhan brought 2000 simoleons with him. And speaking of Zhan Book is good, brave, charismatic, athletic, and he has a good sense of humor.

Emma was so excited about the walls that she welcomed Zhan to Sunset Valley in the best possible manner
With Woohoo!

Afterwards, Emma decided she was hungry, but she forgot a little something. Not that Zhan appears to mind.
Definitely not modest
Zhan: I can get used to this!
Zhan rolled a wish to get a job in the music industry, and since the Books are desperate for money (because I spent it all on the house) I sent Zhan right on over to theater to get a job. Yay simoleons!

Meantime, back at the ranch
It ain't food poisoning!
In the sim world, you know what this means! There's a little sim on the way!
Emma: At last! There will be a little ME running around in the world!
Me: It could be a boy you know.
Emma: So? Oooooh, I can't wait to tell Zhan! He's going to be SO excited!
Or in shock

Yep.  That's a shocked look.

And we're waiting....

Emma: Um, Zhan?
Zhan:..........
Emma: Honey?
Zhan:.........
But Zhan comes around eventually.
Zhan: I'm faking this.

Actually, Emma and Zhan are not terribly excited. Despite her protestations to the contrary, Emma doesn't even go on maternity leave and neither one of them rolls any maternity related wants.
Emma: Well, I never! Of course I'm excited about the baby!
Me: Then why didn't you roll any wants? Why did you go to work?
Emma: It's a glitch! I blame the game!
She's probably right, but I'm certainly not going to tell her that. It's too much fun to rib her.
Emma: What? Are you talking about me behind my back?
Me: <whistling innocently>Nooooo. Of course not! I would never do that!
Emma: Ummm. Yes, yes you would.

It was weird, Emma never got her maternity leave. Monday rolled around and off Emma goes to work. And she is looking SHARP
Classy!

Emma: I am THREE DAYS pregnant! Nothing else fits!
(For my FB friends that read this, if there are any, Sim pregnancies are three days long. Emma is actually not being over dramatic. This time)
But Emma isn't at work for long before she goes into labor.
Strangers are so caring and helpful!
Yep. Emma is outside Doo Peas screaming her head off and people are just walking by and ignoring her.
Emma: The nerve! I'm too important to be ignored. And where was Zhan?
Sleeping!

Emma: Sleeping? He was SLEEPING? While I'm giving birth to HIS CHILD?
Me: It's your child too!
Emma: Semantics!
Me: And it's not like you called Zhan and told him you were in labor.
Emma: It shouldn't matter! He should just know that his beloved wife is in labor!
Me: Because Zhan is psychic?
Emma: Ummmm.....
Me: Ha! I got the last word!

It's a girl!
And her name is Jo Book! She loves--
Emma: Wait a minute! You named her Joe? That's a boy's name! My daughter is clearly a girl! See the pink blanket?
Me: Gender normative much?
Emma: Yes!
Me: Fine, be that way. But I named her after Jo March in Louisa May Alcott's novel Little Women. I LOVE that book! It was the first text I taught in my American literature class this semester, and--
Emma: Yeah, yeah, it's a great book. Let's get back to me!
Me: or Jo? She was just born after all.
Emma: Fine. Jo can have the spotlight. For now.
Me: Oh, yeah, you're going to be a great parent. I can already tell. Anyway, Jo is an outdoor loving slob.
Emma: A slob!?! Oh dear plumbob! Are you kidding me?
Me: Would I lie to you Emma?
Emma: Yes.
Me: Well, yeah, I would. But I'm not this time. Promise.

So Emma and Jo make their way back to the old homestead
Emma: Old? I just bought it like two weeks ago?
It's black! Well it seemed black at the time. It looks kind of blue now.
Emma: What in Sunset Valley have you done to the house?
Me: I recolored it! Jo is the first born of Generation Black!
Emma: Black! I thought you said this was a rainbow legacy. Where's the rainbow? I want color!
Me: Black comes after gray! That's the rules!
Emma: When do we get to the color?
Me: Well after the black generation, comes white, and then yellow-
Emma: Well, you've got to make me immortal. Yellow is the third generation! I need color!
Me: Yeah, not gonna happen.
Emma: <whines> Mariah let Coke Chimeree live forever, why won't you let me?
Me: Mainly because I'm too lazy to gather all of the ingredients for ambrosia.
Emma: Seriously? Because you're lazy?
Me: Yep. Pretty much. But you'll live forever in this legacy. Not everyone gets to be a founder. And I made you special in CAS. I gave you my favorite hair color, a hair color which every eligilble heir must have. I spent ages picking out your clothes and traits.
Emma: You mean you actually PICKED my insane trait?
Me: Yeah, I thought it would be fun. Now do you mind if I show these nice people the rest of the house?
Emma: I'm angry with you right now for so many reasons.
Me: Okay! :)

The Book House in all its glorious glory
Here's the kitchenette area:

Emma: Why are there kawaii frogs on my refrigerator?
Me: Because I really love this pattern!
Emma: Well, the frog is wearing pink. So at least there's some color in my house.

Emma: Wait a minute. Is the bathroom right next to the kitchen?
Me: Yeah, I didn't move anything. It's been like that since you got back from China. And you're still alive and Zhan hasn't gotten sick.
Emma: Me! I got sick! You've got a picture of me throwing up and everything.
Me: You were pregnant! Just about every pregnant sim has morning sickness. You really are dramatic, Emms!
Emma: Don't call me Emms! How many times do I have to tell you?
Me: As many times as you want, Emms.

Anyway, moving on with the tour now. I've created a nice little nook for Jo. She's got an awesome black crib and the Count to keep her company.

Count von Count: I give Jo a positive moodlet!

Right after Emma and Jo get home from the hospital, Jo gets down to business
Reading!
Though to be fair, I'd probably want to read too.
Emma: See? I'm not being lazy!
Me: But I don't have any kids! I really don't know what I'm talking about here! And don't most parents want to spend time with their new baby?
Emma: No! Not fair! Show them the next picture. NOW!
Autonomous snuggling!
It's true. There was autonomous snuggling.
Emma: See! I AM a good mother.
Me: Yeah, you snuggled him one time. Then you were all eager to get back in to your favorite outfit
Star Trek ftw!

I send Emma back to Jo's crib because her social bar was getting low.
Emma: I was going to go over there.
Me: <cough>eventually<cough>
And I get the cutest baby picture EVER!
Look at her little arm! Jo is hugging her mommy! I can't stand how cute this is!
Emma: She is pretty cute isn't she?
Me: Yeah. I have to admit you and Zhan make beautiful babies. At least I think you do. We'll know for sure in a couple of days when Jo ages up.

Zhan comes home and meets little Jo and snuggles her, blah, blah, blah. It's all pretty boring so I didn't take any pictures.
Emma: Boring! Zhan loves our daughter! And could anything to do with me and my perfect child be boring? But at least you didn't take any pictures of Zhan and me celebrating the birth of Jo.
Me: I decided to let you and Zhan have your moment.
Emma: For once. But I really woke up on the wrong side of the bed. See?
The wrong side of the bed is the toilet?

Emma: Oh, come on! I'm not feeling well! I ran right outside after this and threw up!
Me: You ran outside when you were right next to the toilet?
A run for the border

Really? You couldn't just turn around? The toilet was right there.
Turning around is just too hard.

Emma: Come on, give me a break. I really don't feel good. I must have eaten something bad. It was probably that autumn salad Zahn made.
Me: I don't think it was the autumn salad, Emma
Baby!

Emma: Oh, I'm pregnant! Yay! I rolled a wish for a baby right after Jo was born. Yay!

Tune in next time! Emma encounters a toxic waste spill and turns into an ape!
The first symptom

Emma: A toxic waste spill?!? I thought those kinds of things didn't happen in Sunset Valley! I don't want to be an ape!
Me: You really are gullible aren't you?

Aaaand We're Back! Already!

And I can tell you're excited!
Emma: I'm excited!
Me: Of course you are. This blog is all about you.
Emma: As it should be. I'm well worth writing about.
Me: I agree. Now shall we get to it?

When we last left our intrepid heroine, she had babies on the brain. But there's only one problem.
Emma: Oh no! What is it?
Me: You're single! You need a man to have those babies with! Or a woman. I have that mod. And really, you're young, you should work on your career first. You still haven't taken that writing class yet. Do you want to achieve your lifetime wish?
Emma: <sighes>Okay, okay...I'll put my career first. For now. But I'm going to go out and meet some eligible men.
And so off Emma goes to work. And nothing really happens, but I do make an improvement or two on the old homestead. See?
Emma: Ooh! Ooh! Is it walls?
An Easel!
Emma: An easel!?!? Walls! I want walls!
Me: Walls cost money. Paint me a few pictures to sell and we'll talk walls.
Emma: <sighes overdramatically> FINE.

Emma: See me painting? See? Now buy me some walls!
Me: All in good time, Emms. All in good time.
Emma: Don't call me Emms!

So Emma goes to work, goes to the library, and she finally gets around to taking that writing class.
Emma: See? I told you I'd do it.
Emma rolled a wish to write a science fiction novel. Good choice!
Emma: Thank you. I'm going to call it A Sciency Science Fiction Novel. It will be a masterpiece. If people will stop interrupting me.
Labor!
Just when Emma settled in at the library to start her book, Tori Kimura went in to labor.
Emma: I know! And I was in the zone too! It was SO ANNOYING. And EVERYONE  was freaking out! I mean, people go in to labor every day. It's not like it's unusual.
Me: Emma, don't be modest, you were actually helpful...sort of.
Helpful much?
Emma: She didn't want to go by herself! Her husband was nowhere to be found!
Me: I think you just wanted the positive moodlet.
Emma: Well, that part was nice. But I really was trying to help.
Me: I know, I know. And because you did such a good deed, I've got a surprise for you.
Emma: Really?!? What is it?
Walls!
Emma: Walls? Really? Umm...my bed is still outside. Why is my bed still outside?
Me: Because the bathroom is indoors. Don't you want privacy when you're using the bathroom.
Emma: Not really. It's not like I have the never nude trait. See?
Definitely not modest
Emma: Forget the bathroom walls, I want bedroom walls!
Me: Too bad, you're stuck with these.
Emma:<sighes>
Me: You sigh a lot. Are you sure you don't have the dramatic trait?
Emma: Hmph! I'm sure. And I can't believe you just said that. You're seriously rude!
Me: And you're seriously just going to have to deal with sleeping outside
Emma: <sighes even louder for dramatic effect> Fine....
Me: I mean it.
Emma: .........
Me: Oh, so now you're not speaking to me?
Emma:......
Me: Whatever. I'm moving on now.
Emma:........

Watching Tori Kimura give birth made Emma want a family even more. She is a family-oriented sim after all. So Emma set out to meet a man.
The Perfect Way to Meet That Someone Special

Umm, Emma what are you doing? I thought you set out to meet a man.
Emma: I don't have to justify my actions to you!
Me: I thought you weren't speaking to me.
Emma: Darn! Well that's just too hard. I'm just going to sit here and glare at you angrily.
Me: That still doesn't answer the question of why you're digging through a trash can.

What a catch!
Emma: See I met a man!
Me: <laughing> Oh, I see. Nice hat.
His name, and what a name it is, is Venkat Hilliard, a maid. Emma chats him up a bit. And then she ignores him and goes to bed.
Emma: Like I would reproduce with someone who wears a jester hat, a formal top, swim shorts and cowboy boots. As if. He's clearly an insane sim.
Me: You're an insane sim!
Emma: Shh....don't say that out loud. People might hear!

I decide to spend all of Emma's money to send her off on a man hunt vacation.
Emma: The men of Sunset Valley are just not good enough for me.
Me: Snobbish much?
Emma: Of course not, I didn't roll that trait.

Upon her arrival in China, she heads straight for the adventure board and takes the first adventure she sees (that's given by a man). She meets one Shen Su. But sadly, she finds him to be too o old.
Emma: He was only 20 days away from elder!
And then she meets Shen's brother Zhan. She asks all the important getting to know you questions right away.

Are you rich?

Emma: Well, I wanted to know if he had enough money to build me some walls.
Me: You're such an altruist.
Emma: A what?
After a whirlwind courtship (I was spamming romantic interactions like crazy), Emma plucks up the courage to ask Zhan that all important question.

It didn't go over so well.

But Emma, ever the desperate woman optimist, does not give up. She wears Zhan down impresses Zhan with her charm and intellect.
Portrait of Desperation

And just when Zhan can't take any more, Emma pounces proposes.

Emma: I wouldn't let him leave til he said yes. Tee hee.
Zhan rushes off to the bathroom, and Emma, ever the opportunist, waits in the house to seal the deal.
A Classy Kitchen Wedding

Emma: I'm MARRIED! Now will you build me some walls?

Welcome to the Book Legacy

Hi there ya'll! I'm Emchic and this is my very first Sim blog, the Book Legacy. As you can see by my profile, I'm working on a PhD in English so it made sense that my first legacy blog would be book related. I also really really love color, so this will be a rainbow legacy too. And really, I can't imagine anything more awesome than a colorful legacy of bookworms (with literary names, of course).

So anyway, let's get down to business. Meet Emma Book, our first heroine and founder of this super awesome legacy. Say hello, Emma.
Emma: Hi there!
Emma is a an insane, brave, artistic, family-oriented bookworm. And she has nifty hair!
Emma: I quite agree! I DO have nifty hair! And I'm a snappy dresser too. Show them my outfit Emchic.
Me: Your wish is my command.
Emma: See, my sash matches my hair! But really Emchic, did you have to go with all of the gray? I like color too you know.
Me: Remember, you're the founder of this color-filled legacy, and the color of generation zero is gray.
Emma: Really? You should start with something brighter, like turquoise or hot pink.
Me: Well Emms, can I call you Emms?
Emma: No.
Me: Too bad, I'm calling you Emms. Emms, I'm following the rules here. If you'd get online and read Mariah's awesome Chim-Chimeree Legacy (seriously one of my favorite sim blogs) then you'd see there's some precedent for this.
Emma: WELL, I guess if there's precedence for this, I'll live with the gray. And you DID give a non-gray athletic outfit.
Me: I did. Because I've got to respect our love of Star Trek.
Emma: It's true. Now show these nice readers my athletic outfit.
Me: Fine, fine. I'm on it.
Emma: Teehee, I'm a redshirt! I will wear this outfit constantly!
Me: Well, you are an insane sim after all. You don't really care if you're wearing your formal wear in the pool, or your everyday clothes to bed
Emma: Shh...you're not supposed to say such things!
Me: Emms, this is a sim blog, we're going to lay it all out on the line here. The readers are going to see everything about you there is to see.
Emma: <sighs> FINE. Let's just get this legacy started.
Me: Alright, alright, here we go!
This is Emma in her very first day in Sunset Valley, and she's already got books on the brain.
Emma: Of course I do, I love to read. And write! I'm going to be an illustrious author you know.
Me: I do. It's only appropriate for the founder of a literary legacy.

Emma: Um, Emchic. Where's the rest of my house?
Me: This is it! You didn't have much left after I bought your lot.
Emma: Couldn't you just have bought a smaller lot?
Me: Nope. Legacy rules stipulate that this is the lot that must be bought.
Emma: :p
Me: Hey, I DID give you that awesomely colorful bed.
Emma: Awesomely cheap you mean.

Emma: See me here trying to blind myself from looking at my horrible living space?
Me: You're not fooling anyone. We all know this is just you being insane.
Emma: <sighes>
Me: And you did get a job right after this. So you'll have money for a house soon enough.

Emma: I put on my formal wear. I dress to impress.
Me: No you don't. You just wear whatever you want, whenever you want. I have proof:

This is Emma getting out of bed in the morning--in her everyday wear
Emma: <SIGHES>
Moving on now....After changing into her formal wear, Emma takes off to Doo Peas Corporate Tower and obtains a job as a paper girl. And then she promptly calls her boss, one Jared Frio, to suck up. Three times. I kid you not. (And she did this autonomously)
And then, since Emma is a giant book nerd, I sent her off to the library to fulfill her wish of reading a book. I do try and keep my sims happy after all.
Emma: Um, yeah, about that. You're not really doing a good job.
Me: You're like one day old! How would you know?
Emma: I KNOW, Emchic. I know.
ANYWAYS, after the library Emma heads out into town and who does she meet? My simself of course!

Emma: Why can't I have an outfit like yours?
Me: Haven't I already said this is a rainbow legacy? And that gray is the founding generation's color?
Emma: FINE. <pouts>
Me: And besides, you got to meet ME. I'm awesome.
Emma: If you say so.
Me: I do. And if you'll look at this picture, you'll see that we're getting along well.
Emma: What the readers really want to see is this picture of you acting all crazy.
Me: I'm not crazy, I'm childish. That's totally different.
Emma: Sure it is.
After meeting me (surely the highlight of Emma's day), Emma heads home and goes to bed early. She needs to be fresh for her first day of work.
She's dreaming of a real house.
The next morning, Emma wakes up bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to conquer the day.
She looks so thrilled
Emma: Bright-eyed and bushy tailed my ass. I had to sleep OUTSIDE. ALL NIGHT.
Me: Are you sure you're not dramatic? I'm kind of thinking that you are.
Emma: Hmph!
The carpool arrives promptly at 7am and at 7:45, Emma finally makes her way to work.
Emma: It takes time to look beautiful!
Me: You were eating! Not primping.
After work, Emma was none too happy with me.
Emma: OUTSIDE. You're making me sleep OUTSIDE.
Me: It's only temporary.
Emma: Build. Me. Some. Walls. Now!
Me: You'll just have to wait. You have like 15 simoleons. You can't afford walls.
Build me some walls! Now!
Moving on now, Emma....
So Emma goes to work, goes to the library, but she can't manage to make her way to a writing class.
Emma: It's not like I have 400 simoleons to throw around.
Me: Excuses, excuses.
Emma: Do you want me to starve?
Me: You're not starving. And Sunset Valley has loads of free food.
Emma: Fine, fine. I'll take a writing class.
She promises, but writing isn't Emma's main concern. She really only has one thing on her mind:
Babies!

And we'll close there for now.
Next time: Emma has man troubles
Emma: Man troubles! I don't believe you! I am one super hot lady. How could men not be attracted to moi?
Me: Because you're insane
Yep. Crossed eyes and jazz hands=Insane
See you next time! Thanks for reading (if there are in fact any readers)
